Apparently, along with a shortage of toilet paper, non-perishable food, swimming pools and bottled water, now we're seeing a shortage of coins. Central Texas is feeling the effects of a national coin shortage. According to the National Reserve, nickles, dimes and quarters are in low supply across the country. HEB's in central Texas are putting up signs asking customers to use exact change or preferably to pay with debit cards. According to Kxan.com the National Reserve is taking steps to help with the coin shortage and believes that the problem will resolve itself once the economy opens up more broadly....I'm guessing that was before the latest surge in Covid-19 cases.
