Midland County Missing Teens Update
Just last week the Midland County Sheriff’s Office announced that the remains found on a tree farm were positively identified as that of the two missing teens from 2015, Ashley Marie Cruz-Rodriguez and John Raymond Iglesia-Alvarez of Puerto Rico. Back in the first week of February of this year the remains of two people were painstakingly excavated from a property here in Midland on County Road 1227 and West County Road 116 owned by an individual whom the Midland County Sheriff reported as not being a person of interest or involved in any way so their name will not be included in this update. Back in October of 2015 deputies were contacted by family members of the teens saying that they hadn’t heard anything from them since October 24th, 2015 so they made a wellness check at the last place the teens were reported to be living. They were originally classified as runaways at one point. As it turns out they were living with a woman and her boyfriend in a trailer at 3900 South County Road 1200 #2(I think it’s in Ponderosa Trailer Park). The man, Angel Luis Lebron-Rivera, also from Puerto Rico, reported to deputies that he didn’t know where they were and was evasive when answering questions. When it was learned that Rivera had a Federal Warrant out for his arrest in a separate case he was taken in to custody but later released. Two murder warrants have now been issued for his arrest but he’s believed to have fled the country shortly after the teens disappearances and is reported to be armed and dangerous. The two teens were last seen alive on October 10th, 2015, their bodies were found at different depths and on different days at the end of January, first of February of this year in a garbage pit on a tree farm here in Midland County.
I ran a criminal record search for Rivera in the state of Texas and found nothing. I’ve also made a FOIA request to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office regarding the last known residence of the teens as well as for Angel Luis Lebron-Rivera.
