LG starts selling world’s first 8K OLED TV this week.

So this weekend my son and I were at Sam’s and there was this TV on display in the very front that really caught my eye.  You guys this thing was crazy clear and crisp and just really impressive.  Granted, I haven’t purchased a new TV in over 5 years so I’m guessing some advancements have been made in that amount of time but damn dude! I was thinking about going back sometime this week to see how much it was but I may go ahead and wait for what LG has coming out.  LG is has started taking orders in South Korea for what some are saying is the most advanced consumer TV set ever created.  The 88Z9 has an 88-inch OLED panel with 8K Ultra HD resolution (7680 x 4320). If you’re wondering what “OLED” even means it’s a television display technology based on the characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes, it’s different than LED TV’s in a way that I understood about as much as I understood this definition of what an “OLED” TV was so…yeah. The point is LG is taking orders for this 8K OLED TV and there’s barley even any 8K content that exists anywhere and there’s really no information or speculation as to when it will. So why buy a crazy advanced TV that displays a certain kind of content in amazingly off the charts ultra-high definition if there really isn’t anything available right now to watch? So you have a TV that, until they come out with this specific grade of content, you’re just watching what everyone else is watching on their non-amazeballs TV that they paid a normal amount of money for? If you’re wondering what something like that would cost I can stop you right now and tell you that you’d be wrong.  It’s retail price is $42,000…but if you pre-order this month you’ll only pay the reduced price of $34,000 and you get a free air purifier….ok, nope.
