This was on my doorstep this morning

Maybe it's a West Texas tradition?  

I stepped outside this morning and there was a pumpkin on my doorstep.  Maybe it's a tradition to put a pumpkin on someone's doorstep who doesn't have one or doesn't decorate for the season?

It'd be cool if there was a turkey on my doorstep next month.
