A man was walking in the parking lot of a gun range when he was shot in Cypress, Texas.

A gun range customer was shot earlier this week before he even stepped food inside of the building. According to KHOU, 36 year-old Joshua Cummings had just gotten out of his vehicle and was walking towards the Hot Wells Shooting Range when he was struck by the bullet from a rifle that accidentally discharged from inside. According to a Harris County sheriff's deputy, the bullet came from a high-caliber hunting rifle that an employee was cleaning,

"The bullet went through the wall of the small range house and struck [Cummings]."

The workers at the gun range called for help and the man was flown to a hospital, but sadly died. Police are now investigating the shooting but say it appears to be accidental. A employee of the range released a statement on behalf of Hot Wells,

"We simply do not have the words to express the sorrow in our hearts. For 44 years we have operated this facility accident free, yet today we are shaken by tragedy."

The range didn't wish to comment any further into a full investigation is complete. Read more about this incident at the KHOU website.
