Reunited Ratt to Headline 2017 M3 Rock Festival
Shortly after officially announcing their heavily rumored reunion, the latest Ratt lineup has booked its first major live performance: a headlining slot at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Md.
As previously reported, singer Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Warren DeMartini and bassist Juan Croucier recently prevailed in a legal tug-of-war over the band name with drummer Bobby Blotzer, who'd been touring with his own version of the group while contending that DeMartini — with whom he shared control of the corporation with ownership of Ratt's copyrights — had breached his fiduciary duty by neglecting to tour or record.
DeMartini saw things differently — as did Pearcy and Croucier, who banded together against Blotzer, ironically bringing about the eventual Ratt revival the drummer said he wanted in the first place. Unfortunately for Blotzer, that reunion won't include him, as he's been removed from the band's legal partnership and instructed that he "may now only refer to himself as a ‘former member of Ratt’" while promoting appearances.
Blotzer has yet to comment, but in the meantime, the new-old Ratt is busy lining up tour dates — starting with the M3 Rock Festival, which is scheduled to unfold April 28 and 29 of next year. The group tops a bill that includes fellow vets such as Dokken, Loverboy, Warrant and Winger, among many others.
Check out the festival's official site for further details and ticketing information. More shows are presumably to follow, but if time has taught Ratt fans anything, it's that you never know how long a lineup is going to stick together; if you're interested in seeing these guys, take the opportunity while you can.
