It’s NATIONAL WHISKEY SOUR DAY!

Personally I prefer plain ole Whiskey with no bells or whistles but I also know that your relationship with your liquor can be like your relationship with your partner, sometimes you have to shake it up a bit!

So here you go, below are five whiskey sour recipes in honor of National Whiskey Sour Day, try one, try them all!

New York Sour

2 oz. Rye Whiskey

0.75 oz. lemon juice

0.5 oz. simple syrup

0.5 oz. dry red wine

1 handful ice

1 lemon slice

Dizzy Sour

1.5 oz. Whiskey

0.75 oz. egg white

0.5 oz. lemon juice

2 bar-spoons Benedictine

0.25 oz. simple syrup

0.5 oz. dark Jamaican rum

1 handful ice

1 skewered pineapple cube

Double Standard Sour

0.75 oz. Whiskey

0.75 oz. gin

0.75 oz. lemon juice

0.5 oz. simple syrup

1 dash grenadine

1 maraschino cherry

1 orange slice

1 handful ice

Directions? Just add everything to a cocktail shaker or as I like to call it the “Make Do Method”.  The “Make Do Method” means I have an empty, clean jar with a lid, usually a jar that once held hamburger sliced Best Maid pickles, and you throw it all in there, put the top on and get to shaking.
