First, there was the under-watched but beloved TV series. Then there was the Kickstarter campaign that shattered all expectations. Then came the trailer that proved that, yes, a feature film sequel to 'Veronica Mars' did in fact exist and wasn't an elaborate practical joke on fans. Now, here's the first 'Veronica Mars' movie poster, which you will actually be able to see in your local multiplex as further proof that the 'Veronica Mars' movie is real and is only a few months away.

The poster isn't too imaginative, but it gets the job done. You've got star Kristen Bell front and center, camera at the ready; the supporting cast on film strips, which is a decent way of getting away with big floating heads without them actually being big floating heads; and then you've got the tagline, which sounds like it should be read in your best Al Pacino voice. Yes, this is indeed a movie poster. The big question now is whether or not it'll excite anyone who hasn't actually watched the show. Probably not, if we're going to be completely honest with ourselves here.

'Veronica Mars' will see the titular former-P.I. returning home to help solve a murder case in which her former love interest (Jason Dohring) has been implicated. Naturally, the rest of the cast will be returning, as well, making this the spiritual successor to 'Serenity.' That means the box office will be up in the air, but man, those first screenings are sure going to be packed with adoring fans.

'Veronica Mars' will premiere at this year's SXSW Film Festival before arriving in theaters on March 14, 2014. Take a look at the first poster, courtesy of Yahoo Movies.
