Deep Fried Nutella is Featured at This Year’s Texas State Fair

Nutella is all the rage these days and the Texas State Fair has decided to add to its tradition of deep fried treats by featuring deep fried Nutella.

Just in case you have been under a rock for the past couple of years, Nutella is a chocolate hazelnut spread.

Deep fried Nutella is one of the finalists for the Big Tex Choice Award for best new food.

The deep fried version features Nutella mixed with cream cheese, spread over dough, rolled, and dropped in the fryer.  It is then served with honey and almonds.

Its biggest competition this year is a fried Thanksgiving dinner, which is stuffing and turkey rolled in a ball, dipped in cream corn, covered in corn meal, fried, and served with gravy and cranberry sauce.

The other competitors for the coveted Big Tex Choice Award are a deep fried Cuban roll, deep fried pie, deep fried spinach and artichoke dip bites, deep fried meatloaf, and deep fried casserole.
