Thinking About Exercise Can Help You Live Longer
Just imagine working it. It could be more beneficial than you think. And no, this study didn't come out of some rinky-dink college or yoga institute. It comes from Stanford University.
Published by the American Psychological Association, a study shows that if you compare yourself to those that work out and find yourself lacking, it's bad for your health. However, on the flip side, even if you don't work out but consider yourself healthy and aren't critical of yourself, it's healthier for you.
This is, of course, not a substitute for actually working out and being healthy. But it shows that a more positive mental outlook is healthier. And this wasn't a small study either. It was done with 60,000 people, who took part in two large health surveys. So, if you're thinking about getting healthier, don't compare yourself to those who hit the gym every day. Think positively, imagine working, and you've already taken one step towards a healthier life.
