Theory of a Deadman Unleash Their Beefs in ‘Blow’ Video
Corey Taylor may have penned a book called You're Making Me Hate You about his gripes with today's society, but Theory of a Deadman have managed to condense their dislikes all into one song and hilarious video called "Blow."
In the Tony Corella-directed video, Tyler Connolly and the boys are decked out in their best Mariachi uniforms sitting around a fake fire and a painted desert contemplating the idea of singing a song. When told that he should sing something from the heart, Connolly reveals that he wrote a song that came to him in a dream, and thus "Blow" begins.
What follows is a more twangy, country-esque song than Theory of a Deadman fans are used to, but the happy go lucky track has a seething undertone featuring their wicked sense of humor as they begin to name check some of their beefs in this scandal-obsessed society. There aren't many targets left unscathed as they drop references to Chris Brown, Kanye West, the fascination with naked selfies, governmental control, the dumbing down of intelligence to fit in and even wearing socks with sandals. As for the clip, it does feature a pretty wicked nosebleed for Dave Brenner, some hilarious t-shirt slogans and a surprise ending worth sticking around for.
"Blow" is the fourth major song to be released from the band's Savages album. Following on the footsteps of "Drown," the Alice Cooper-featuring title track and the ballad "Angels," "Blow" continues in helping to make Savages one of the band's most successful discs to date. You can currently pick up the album via iTunes.
Meanwhile, Theory of a Deadman, who recently rocked the inaugural Loudwire Music Festival, are continuing their touring support of the album. Be sure to catch them at these stops.
