Texas Man Sets Rug on Fire to Prove He's Not a 'Loser'

A 20-year-old man in Austin has proven that sometimes people should just stop while they're ahead.

Authorities say Scout Thomas Hodge set a rug in his apartment on fire to prove he wasn't a loser. He then held his mom in a bear hug because he thought the police would commit him to a psychiatric facility. But wait, it gets better.

When police interviewed him, he said he was in a bad mood because of a program he was watching about politics and tried to burn a syria hat on fire which was placed on the rug. He posted it to Instagram to let people know he is not a loser.

Well, I guess he can tell all the people in jail he's not a loser now that he's charged with felony arson and unlawful restraint.
