Remember Hollywood Video In Midland? See Crazy Before After Pics

Back in the day, you had several choices here in Midland to rent a video! Yes, RENT A VIDEO! When was the last time you heard that? Of course, there was the big one...BLOCKBUSTER! It owned the video rental business in the 90s and early 2000s. But, there were other choices, and one of them was Hollywood Video! Hollywood Video? You might not remember the name, but you might remember the building.

HOLLYWOOD VIDEO WAS THE 2ND BIGGEST VIDEO RENTAL BACK IN THE DAY!

Yes, believe it or not, Hollywood Video was the 2nd largest Video rental behind Blockbuster at one point in the nation! You were either Team Blockbuster, or in some cases, you were Team Hollywood Video! Midland had 2 Hollywood Video locations back in the day.

Several different stores now occupy what was once ALL Hollywood Video.

THE BUILDINGS WERE CRAZY COLORFUL

The thing about Hollywood Video buildings is they were always very colorful and 3D looking with their signage. Of course, they did have the iconic HOLLYWOOD sign from California look.

HOLLYWOOD VIDEO CLOSED DOWN IN 2009-2010

It was a sign of the times when Hollywood Video, which eventually was bought by Movie Gallery Company,  finally did close its Midland stores. Video/ DVD rental would soon be a thing of the past, and just like the DVDs, Hollywood Video in Midland would just be a memory.
