Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic is the Favorite to Win the NBA MVP This Year
Let’s hope the oddsmakers are right on this one.
It’s been over 10 years since the Dallas Mavericks won their only NBA championship. And if they’re going to add another Larry O’Brien Trophy to the case, they’ll need a big year from their star player Luka Doncic.
The good news is that the young phenom is the odds-on favorite to win the MVP trophy in the 2022-2023 season, according to MSN. Points Bet has Doncic ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid.
6 Players with Lowest Odds to Win NBA MVP in 2022-2023 Season
- Luka Doncic +450
- Giannis Antetokounmpo +600
- Joel Embiid +600
- Nikola Jokic +1000
- Kevin Durant +1000
- Stephen Curry +1000
That’s some impressive company to be in. Not to mention the fact that he’s actually the favorite among some of the greatest players to have ever played the game.
Obviously, being the favorite to win the MVP is no guarantee that Doncic will actually bring home the award when all is said and done. But, it’s a hell of a way to start the season.
Speaking of a hell of a way to start the season, in stark contrast to last year when he was criticized for being out of shape when the season started, Doncic appears to be in the best shape he’s been in in a long time.
Here’s to hoping he has the best year of his career so far with many more to come.
