Every Wednesday we feature a different pet that needs a new forever home here in the Basin from Lonestar Sanctuary For Animals. Sometimes it's a dog, sometimes it's a cat. They haven't had any guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, or snakes---yet. But you never know!

Meet Uma!

Uma is an amazing Blood Hound mix who will play fetch for hours and never tire!  She even washes her ball for you when she thinks is has gotten too dirty!  She will alert you to visitors and perhaps a leaf blowing in the yard.  Uma loves people and will give kisses when she is in the mood...  Not a big fan of others hogging her spotlight, Uma would need to be the only pet!  When you meet her, you would never know she is 10 years old as she can run circles around dogs half her age!  Uma needs a very large yard with a secure fence, as she likes to dig!  Due to her size and excitement level, Uma would do best with children 8 years and up.  In addition to playing fetch, Uma loves car rides!  She especially loves to stick her head out the window and feel the breeze!  Uma is considered a special needs dog as she takes daily medication.  To find out more about Uma call or visit Lone Star Sanctuary For Animals!  Visiting hours are 1-4:30 pm every day except Thursdays.

And if for some reason you're not looking for a pet right now--please click SHARE and post this to your social media so we can help Uma find her forever home. Or perhaps you're looking for a different new furry friend. There are so many fur babies who would love to meet you so stop by and pay them a visit! There are plenty of dogs and cats to choose from who would love to be your next family member.
