A little ole grandmother likely saved the lives of who knows how many innocent people recently in Lubbock and I personally just found out about it.  I'm one to troll the internet for hours every day looking for useful and interesting stories so it's odd to me that I didn't come across this until today, then again maybe the recent events had something to do with that.  Regardless, here is what I found.

A man in Lubbock, TX, was plotting a mass shooting less than a month ago, purchasing an AK-47 rifle, stocking up on amo and even renting a hotel room.  Apparently he planned on carrying out the shooting at the hotel and "then commit suicide by cop".  After he told him grandmother of his plans however, she was able to talk him into checking into a hospital for treatment where he was later arrested likely saving lives.

The man, William Patrick Williams, 19, was arrested after a hospitalization and gave investigators permission to search his hotel room.  While there they found an AK-47 rifle, 17 loaded magazines and several knives.  Williams told officers that he laid out his weapons on the bed so that law enforcement could take custody of them.  They also found a black trench coat, black tactical pants and a t-shirt that read "Let 'Em Come", written on it, according to a press release.
