Alec Baldwin will soon direct Donald Trump's Apprentice catchphrase — "You're fired" — at himself: The actor says his days playing Trump on SNL are numbered.

Baldwin, who has played the President routinely since the 2016 election season, has received rave reviews from some (and been subjected to less favorable evaluation from others, including Trump, himself). Either way, Baldwin says the longer he plays Trump, the more he's contributing to political and social discord, and said eventually, the fighting has got to stop.

“The maliciousness of this White House has people very worried,” Baldwin said in an interview with Extra. “That’s why I’m not going to do it much longer, the impersonation. I don’t [know] how much more people can take it.”

Baldwin added he assumed Trump's vitriol would subside a bit after winning the election, but said the President still "overwhelmingly lacks any kind of sportsmanship” and “remains bitter and angry."

“You want to look at him, and you want to go, ‘You won!'” Baldwin said.

Baldwin says he doesn't have any plans, either, to impersonate Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, which Trump said in February he doesn't plan to attend.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen,” he said. “I honestly don’t think that they want that. I think that for their prestige and their integrity — I think a lot of people are thinking that if Trump himself doesn’t come and face the music, as it were, I don’t know what kind of program they’re going to have.”
