Covid pushed so many things back, concerts, family gatherings and movies.  Thankfully this year we have plenty of movies to choose from at the theatre.  Here is a list of the ones that I’ve been looking forward to by month.

April

Concrete Cowboy with Idris Elba, Caleb McLaughlin, Jharrel Jerome, Lorraine Toussaint and Method Man.  Opened April 2nd on Netflix.

Mortal Combat with Joe Taslim, Ludi Lin, Mechad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Elissa Cadwell, Ng Chin Han, Max Huang, Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Sisi Stringer.  Opening on April 23rd with simultaneous release on HBO Max.

May

Army of the Dead with Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana De La Reguera and Theo Rossi. Opening on May 21st on Netflix.

Cruella with Emma Stone, Joel Fry, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Paul Walter Hauser and Emma Thompson. Opening on May 28th with premier access on Disney+.

A Quite Place Part II with Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds, Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.  Opening on May 28th.

June

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It with Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook and Julian Hilliard opening on June 4th with simultaneous release on HBO Max.

July

The Forever Purge with Ana De La Reguera, Josh Lucas, Tenoch Huerta and Will Patton opening on July 2nd.

Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz opening on July 9th with premier access on Disney+.

Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti opening on July 30th.

August

Hotel Transylvania 4 with Adam Sandler opening August 6th.

The Suicide Squad with Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, John Cena, Peter Capaldi and Sylvester Stallone opening on August 6th.

Candyman with Nia DaCosta opening on August 27th.

The Boss Baby: Family Business with Tom McGrath opening on September 17th.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage with Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Naomie Harris and Stephen Graham opening on September 24th.

October

Morbius!!!!!!!!!!!!! The exclamation marks aren’t in the title I’ve just been waiting for like 2 ½ years for this movie.  Starring Jared Leto, Jared Harris, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith and Tyrese Gibson opening on October 8th.

November

Ghostbusters: Afterlife with Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace and Paul Rudd opening November 12th.

Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Val Kilmer, Jay Ellis, Miles Teller and Monica Barbaro opening November 19th.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City with Kaya Scodelario, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Hannah John-Kamen and Neal McDonough opening on November 24th.

December
