The Ride for Change is back and, this year, will benefit low-income students who would like to play in their school band.

Those of us who are/were band nerds know how much band influenced our lives. We also know the expense involved in being in band. It's really difficult for some students to participate in band, primarily, due to the expense. So, we'd like to help defray some of that cost by raising funds, for instruments, as well as asking for donations of your used instruments.

I think we all know someone (or multiple people) that has an old instrument in their closet collecting dust. Well, put that instrument to good use and donate it so we can help keep the music alive with our future generations.

Whether it's a flute, trumpet, clarinet, snare drum, or even a tuba, please consider donating it to this cause. You can donate your instruments at the locations below:

  • N-Tune Music & Sound at 221 Grape Street in Abilene
  • Townsquare Media Studios at 3911 South 1st in Abilene

The Ride for Change will take place May 3rd-15th as we ride to 11 cities in Texas and Oklahoma raising funds for band instruments for low-income students. However, we will be taking donations (money or instruments) through the end of June. So, if you can't catch me on the ride, don't sweat it, you'll have plenty of chances to donate to help these school band programs. Click here for more details about The Ride for Change.

Thanks for helping keep the music alive!
