16 Families Left Displaced by Midland Apartment Fire
So far according to the article on NewsWest9.com, 16 apartments at the Andrews Square East Apartment complex located on the 1900 block of Midland Dr., went up in flames on Sunday evening leaving families with nothing just weeks before Christmas. There’s plenty to be stressed out about this time of year and we’re all going through things, some more than others, I realize that. I would never lessen or trivialize anyone’s troubles in any way but there are 16 families, most of them left with nothing, just two weeks before Christmas that need this communities help right now. As of this moment the only effort I’ve found (thanks to Melissa Hendrix-Beach at News West 9) is a fundraiser going on at the two Wing Stop locations here in Midland. They will be donating 15% of all sales until 11 o’clock tonight so take a break from dinner and head over to Wing Stop. I’m asking on behalf of everyone here at KBAT and Townsquaremedia to any and all reading this now to please make the decision to help these members of our community who are in such need right before Christmas. I challenge any and all businesses of the Midland/Odessa area to give back to your community in a way that will make a huge difference to these 16 families.
Melissa says they are continuing to try and gather information on the families as well as what, if any other donation opportunities are available. If you know of any other efforts/organizations/fundraisers for the displaced families of the Andrews Square East Apartment complex fire please let us know in the comments, send us an email or PM us.
