Survey Says: Ten Traditional Skills That Are Dying Out
Lots of skills that those of us born before the 80's were taught in school are slowly dying out with the introduction of technology.
According to Daily Mail, a survey was recently conducted with 2,000 people, here are the ten traditional skills that are dying out according to the results:
- Reading a map.
- Using a compass.
- Knowing how to tie different knots.
- Darning socks, which means fixing holes in them. Most young people don't even know "darning" is a word.
- Looking something up in a book by using the index.
- Knowing how to format a letter.
- Knowing measurement conversions, like there are four quarts in a gallon.
- Spelling and grammar.
- Building a fire.
- Having good penmanship, because no one writes anything anymore.
