A New Mexico city councilor has apologized after she sent a rude text about a judge, to the judge in question on accident.

A Rio Rancho city councilor has made a public apology after she accidentally sent a negative text about Judge G. Robert Cook, to the judge! City Councilor Cheryl Everett has since apologized to the citizens of Rio Rancho, saying that the text passed from the person she thought she was communicating with the Judge Cook. Judge Cook has since filed a complaint against the councilwoman. The judge was accidentally sent the text message after he was given a different phone by the city.

According to Judge Cook, who is the city's municipal judge, the text read,

“F*** Judge Cook. Hope you agree. :)”

Everett says it did not actually say the full "F" curse word, but "F, star, star, star." The councilwoman says she attempted to apologize, but the judge says that she tried to lie and say that her cell phone was hacked. She told Albuqeruque's KRQE "

“I have to think that he and or someone in his circle didn’t want to settle it peacefully. He has been very critical of our city council and especially our city manager who is an appointed official and doesn’t deserve to be attacked in that fashion. Certainly going forward I will focus on being more professional and productive and make sure I know who I’m talking to before I start talking,”

An ethics committee has rejected Judge Cook's complaint, stating that there has been no "violation of any specific section of the ethics ordinance." The city has also said that the city councilwoman will not face any punishments for her actions or have her phone privileges taken away since there was no violation. Read more at the KRQE website.
