If you have lived in the Permian for all or most of your life, you know of all the restaurants that have come and gone. We have had some good ones over the years, and we also have our mainstays. We have our favorites that we visit regularly, the place where everybody knows your name and what your drink and food order will be.

To be honest, visiting these places once a month and for some people once a week are nice. You walk in acting like you own the place some days. lol Your waiter knows you don't need to look at a menu and literally as you are sitting your drink is placed down in front of you almost immediately. You know what I'm talking about. We all have a place like this in Midland and Odessa.

What if someone was passing through the 432 for just one night, which 1 restaurant in Midland and 1 in Odessa would you tell them they must eat at?

MY RECOMMENDATION IN ODESSA:

Jorge's Cafe-I'll have my La Villita with green, cheese enchiladas, unsweet tea and bring a small queso please. I love my Jorge's green enchiladas but on cold days (like we are expecting this week) the menudo is my go-to! You can get it any day of the week.

MY RECOMMENDATION IN MIDLAND:

Cancun Grill-my favorite dish is actually on the appetizer menu. I'll have tilapia and shrimp durango which is a poblano pepper topped with tilapia and shrimp, smothered in roasted corn queso. Also, I'll have a small bowl of corn queso on the side, and a bowl of jalapenos in soy. These jalapenos are to die for, you must try them!

Keep in mind, these are my personal recommendations and preferences, there is no right or wrong answer. Which restaurants would you recommend to a 1st time visitor to the area?
