A therapist recently posted these 8 warning signs of a nervous breakdown. One of the first things she mentions is that 'breakdown' doesn't have a handy official definition. But, here are eight warning signs of a nervous breakdown.

  1. You have escape fantasies
  2. You have no downtime
  3. You struggle to make decisions
  4. You're withdrawing socially
  5. You can't sleep
  6. You're having panic attacks
  7. You're self-sabotaging
  8. You've lost your sense of self

Now, if you've read these and they are something that you are dealing with, there is good news. It's not the end of the world. In fact, it can be the start of a very positive change in your life. But you have to be the one to change it.

"You could deal with this situation by simply changing your work life so that you regain a sense of control and achievement and start to feel like ‘yourself’ again. But it’s also the ideal time to ask what ‘yourself’ means. Use this as an opportunity for person growth, and something positive can come out of a distressing time."
