Midland-Odessa Dealing With Mosquitoes Already? Here Is A Trick To Get Rid Of Them
Look what TikTok has me doing now. OMG, if you do not currently have the TikTok app downloaded on your phone, don't do it! I swear, there is a remedy for every single situation and it is super easy to go down the rabbit hole of TikTok videos. There are solutions to dang near all of your daily issues. So even though it looks like I am about to do some deep cleaning and drink about 5 cups of coffee, no that is not the case. Here is what I actually plan to do with all of the products in the photo...
Triple-digit temperatures are here, especially this week with no less than 102-degree temps each day. Well, guess what goes hand in hand with hot summer nights? Those pesky tiny insects we love to hate, mosquitoes! Literally my absolute least favorite thing about summer and hot weather.
Thanks to TikTok, if you are not trying to deal with mosquitoes this summer, this is an effortless way to get rid of them. Apparently, mosquitoes do not like coffee. They are repelled by the odor created from the coffee grounds burning. So coffee grounds + triple-digit heat means very angry mosquitoes who do not care to hang around your home. It's a win-win.
I bought these coffee grounds, not for myself but for the 'skeeters. I spread them all around my front and back doors. Did it work? I believe it did. They don't seem to gather around my doors like before.
Something else you can try in addition to the coffee grounds or in case that suggestion does not work for you, try this. I mix equal parts Dawn dish soap, vinegar and cold water in a spray bottle and shake real good. Then spray around all doors and windows. Does it work? Temporarily yes. But I discovered you must spray daily for it to be effective.
