Even though Texas is in the Top 10 for Worst States to be a Kid in America, according to Annie E. Casey Foundation’s KIDS COUNT Project.

Statistics never make anyone happy, so let's go to the chart. As you can see they analyzed data that focused on "factors like economic well-being, education, health, family and community. The analysis tracks trends over a six year period from 2008 to 2014."

The worst ranking Texas received came in the family and community section as the 47th worst state. The highest ranking Texas received from this study was 33rd in well-being and 32nd in education.

If we did a survey on delicious fried food and gun skills I bet we would rank higher. These should be the type of priorities studied, not learning how to math. Who needs that right?
