Texas Mogul Wants Return of Sex Expo in Dallas

So a Texas real estate and energy mogul is lobbying Dallas officials to prevent the return of a sex exposition that has previously drawn about 15,000 people.

The Dallas Morning News reports billionaire Ray Hunt emailed city council members over the weekend asking that on Wednesday they vote against this summer's Exxxotica expo…..I didn’t realize we were already to that point where you could just email the city council with official business type requests instead of going through the proper channels for such things.

Hunt, who owns valuable downtown land, said in his email that the event runs counter to the values and beliefs of most Dallas residents.

Mayor Mike Rawlings joined women's advocacy groups last year in criticizing the opening of Exxxotica at the city-owned Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

The council Wednesday is scheduled to act on a resolution proposed by Rawlings that would bar the three-day expo from the convention center.

Does this guy not realize how much of a hit this area is going to take if they go through with banning this expo?  There are countless shops in that area that are relying on this event and the revenue it’s going to bring in and he’s ready to just wipe it out?  Come on dude, the best deals on vibrators and other assorted paraphernalia happen on the weekend of this convention….it’s like the semi-annual sale at Victoria Secret and I need some more pole powder so calm yourself!
