Stone Temple Pilots Plan One-Off Reunion Show With Chester Bennington at Benefit
Yes, the singer search is still on, but Stone Temple Pilots will be taking the stage with Chester Bennington at an upcoming benefit show. The Linkin Park vocalist, who amicably parted ways with STP last fall, will make a one-off return with the group at the "From Bach to Rock" show in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., on March 26.
The benefit is designed to aid the Palos Verdes Peninsula public schools and will take place at the Norris Theater and Pavilion. Other performers on the bill include Bonham's Chas West, Monte Pittman, Lizzy Borden's Marten Andersson, Gary Wright, orchestra favorites Yutong and Stan Sharp, and pianist Jane Lee.
From Bach to Rock is an intimate concert, bringing platinum selling rock stars together with world-renowned classical musicians, taking you on a journey from the 17th century to the modern hits of today, all in the spirit of benefiting Palos Verdes Peninsula public schools. Tickets and additional information can be found at this location.
Stone Temple Pilots and Chester Bennington announced their split in November. The parting of the ways was amicable, as Bennington stated that the time required to balance his responsibilities between the two bands always seemed to fall short. Meanwhile, the STP members stated, "We have thoroughly enjoyed our time together with Chester not only professionally, but even more so on a personal level. Sadly, it was evident that scheduling and time was working against us."
As such, the band have started a singer search as they take the next step in their career. Those interested in submitting to be the new vocalist for the band are advised to check out this page.
