Joe Exotic Wins Appeal on his Lengthy Sentence
And look what I happen to be wearing today kids......
I know you guys remember one of the most interesting individuals to come out of binge watching during the pandemic, the one and only Joe Exotic...or Joseph Maldonado-Passage if you're looking him up in an inmate search.
He is currently serving time in a medical prison in Fort Worth for trying to hire two different men to kill self-proclaimed animal rights activist "That B**ch" Carole Baskin.
A woman who many, including me, believe is responsible for the disappearance of her husband, Don Lewis, who went missing August 19th, 1997. Joe was sentenced in January of 2020 to 22 years in a federal prison. Exotic was also found guilty of falsifying wildlife records and violating the Endangered Species Act for his part in trafficking and killing tigers.
Well the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit just ruled in favor of Mr. Maldonado-Passage's appeal regarding the length of his sentence. He basically argued that his sentence was too long and they agreed, although his convictions were upheld.
Somehow he and Carole must be rekindling a friendship now that Joe is in prison because in a recording Joe made for his lawyers to release to the public he says that Ms. Baskin said that if Joe would support the Big Cat Public Safety Act , that she would help him get out of prison.
(I'm case you want to check how awkward Carole Baskin can truly be here's a link to her BigCatRescue tiktok account. )
Joe is now waiting to find out what his new sentence will be while he continues to seek out help from whoever the current president is, which happens to be Biden. Remember he tried to get a pardon from Trump and that didn't happen. In the recording he made for his lawyers he sends this message, "President Biden, if you are listening, this is the time that you need to be a world hero and sign that pardon."
So I suppose we shall see
You can hear the message he recorded here
