H-E-B to Donate $10 Million to Rebuild Robb Elementary in Uvalde
H-E-B continues to help Texans in need with a big donation. As reported by news4sa, H-E-B and the Butt Family have committed $10 million to the Uvalde school district to build a new school to replace Robb Elementary, the site of that horrible mass shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers last month.
According to the article, the donations were made to the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District’s new nonprofit arm, the Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation, which is seeking donations to make the district’s schools more secure, help build the new school and build a memorial park at the Robb location. This is just one of many examples of how awesome HEB is. If you remember back to last year, H-E-B got national attention from the Ellen Show for donating an incredible $1 million to Feeding Texas, supporting food banks throughout Texas and the list goes on and on.
DID YOU KNOW...
Did you know that H-E-B has called five different locations home in Victoria? At least that is what I remember. The 'original' location was downtown on Main St. The building that is now home to Speedy Stop and Waterloo. H-E-B then moved to Laurent/Rio Grande, however, it is not the building we see today. The old H-E-B at that location was actually facing Rio Grande before it was torn down to bring the Rio Grande Location that you know today. On the north side of town, H-E-B opened up at the Navarro shopping center where Ashely's is located today before moving to the HEB Plus location that we all know today.
