We've lost some truly amazing rock legends; but some you can easily say that we lost way too soon. Though they may be no longer with us, they're always here in spirit...

One of the greatest "what if" stories in metal history, Dimebag was taken from us on December 8th, 2004 in one of the darkest days in metal. Dimebag would die at the age of 38. His brother Vinnie Paul would continue to make music & live until his passing on June 22, 2018.

We will never forget the Abbott brothers; us meaning the world, KLAQ, & all of El Paso...

Another huge "what if" stories in music, we still haven't gotten over the fact that we lost Selena in 1995 at the age of just 23. Even nearly 3 decades since her passing, we never stopping remembering Selena's legacy. We still pay of respects because, after all, she was and always WILL BE... The Queen of Tejano Music.

One of the members in the 27 Club, Janis Joplin was a huge figure for women in rock music. Even after her passing in 1970, Janis has continued to inspire women to become singers in all genres of music. Her voice was great & her stage presence on is one that not many singers can replicate.

Buddy Holly:

When you think old school rock n roll, Buddy Holly is one of the biggest names to ever pick up a guitar. He's a national hero in his hometown of Lubbock who died at an age younger than Selena, 22. His music is remembered fondly & countless artists have paid respects to Buddy over the years.

We would sadly lose Buddy on February 3rd, 1959 in a plane crash that killed all 4 people on board; the pilot Roger Peterson, Ritchie Valens, Buddy & of course...

J.P. Richardson Jr. "The Big Bopper":

Yes we would also lose Sabine Pass's Jilles Perry, aka The Big Bopper, on the same fateful night at the age of 28. While The Big Bopper usually gets paired up in conversation with Buddy & Ritchie, JP would have huge hits of his own his in career.

Sadly though all the names would get paired up & lose the lives on the day that became...

Stevie Ray Vaughan:

We're not done talking about aviation crashes, sadly, as we can't talk forget about one of the biggest names in blues/rock: Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie would die in a helicopter crash on August 27th, 1990 at 35 years old.

Just like with The Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens & Buddy Holly, let's not remember these musicians for the accident, but rather the music & legacies they all left behind.

Taylor Hawkins:

I don't think it's ever gonna set in that we lost Taylor Hawkins this year at only 50 years old. If Dave Grohl was the head of Foo Fighters, then Taylor was the heart. A truly amazing drummer with so much energy that was unmatched; Taylor Hawkins will never be forgotten & will always be remembered as a fantastic drummer & singer.

ROCK In Peace to all these legends & every legend we've lost in music. May their lives never be forgotten.
