An alleged drunk driver wanted on prior charges of DWI sped through a red light in a pickup truck, killing three family members on their way home from church.

Harris County Constable Mark Herman said in a statement on Saturday that deputies attempted to resuscitate the victims, a mother, father and their 18-year-old son who was weeks away from graduation, all died at the scene.

Jeremy Valdez the 25-year-old driver of the pickup, fled on foot but was later caught by deputies. Officials say Valdez had an open warrant for arrest for failing to pay fines associated with a 2010 driving while intoxicated charge. This is Jeremy Valdez's fourth DWI arrest. Authorities are charging him with three counts of murder.

Family members of the victims have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the funeral.
