Dallas Cowboys Fans Suggest Jerry Jones Add Shades at AT&T Stadium
Cowboys fans are calling on Jerry Jones to put shades or curtains up in AT&T Stadium after the Cowboys' loss in the Wild Card Round to rival 49ers.
The Midland Reporter-Telegram reports that after the sun caused a few missed passes, some are blaming that on the 23-17 loss on Sunday and want shades or curtains to be put on the west side windows of the stadium.
Right before halftime, Dak Prescott threw a pass to an open Cedrick Wilson that should have put them in field goal range, but Wilson was blinded by the sun and missed the ball completely.
Wilson said in a post-game press conference that he couldn't see the ball or Prescott because of the sun.
Jerry Jones went on Dallas' 105.3 The Fan and said this in response, “I wish to hell all I had to worry about was a ball hitting a (jumbotron) or a little sun getting in there. Conditions and elements have been a part of football since it was spelled the first time. No, I’m not. That’s about 10,000 on my list of things to worry about. And, no, we’re not going to do anything with it. It goes both ways. Both teams had a chance to get in the sun, both teams had a chance to get out of the sun. Relative to the elements I see other people play in, it’s nothing," said Jones.
Jones did echo the fans' frustration after a season-ending defeat.
"Well, I do the very same thing," Jones said. "When I’ve had my ass kicked and people are mad at me, then I’m going to pick something out that I can pick on them. ‘Well, I don’t like that they don’t color coordinate or they don’t wear something I want them to wear.’ When, really, it’s something much more important than that. What we’ve got on our mind is the fact that we didn’t play well enough in the first playoff game with a hell of a team."
So as of yet, there are no plans to get shades or curtains in AT&T Stadium.
