Battle Royale: Suicide Silence Debut Strong, But Earthside Soar to Video Countdown No. 1
The jig is up for Shallow Side, who retired after five weeks atop the Battle Royale Video Countdown with their "Renegade" video. That means there's a new chart-topper this week and it belongs to Earthside, who moved up from No. 3 last week with their "A Dream in Static" video, which features TesseracT vocalist Daniel Tompkins. The clip surges ahead of 9Electric's "The Damaged Ones," which finished second for a second straight week.
Elsewhere on the countdown, it was a big opening week for Suicide Silence's 360-degree "Doris" video which took viewers onstage, in the pit and backstage of their Ozzfest Meets Knotfest performance last fall. The clip arrived at No. 7. The other big debut of the week was Within the Ruins' "Beautiful Agony," which settled at No. 9. And it should be noted that The ReAktion's "The Network," which sits comfortably at No. 3 this week, is now the longest tenured video on the countdown and will be retired after one final "victory lap" week of voting. See the Battle Royale Top 10 videos below.
Things are about to look significantly different in the Battle Royale, with nine new videos entering the voting. Clips from The Agonist ("Take Me to Church"), Breaking Benjamin ("Never Again"), KXM ("Scatterbrain"), Leopold and His Fiction ("It's How I Feel (Free)"), Me and That Man ("My Church Is Black"), Message From Sylvia ("Heart of War"), Oni featuring Randy Blythe ("The Only Cure"), September Mourning ("20 Below") and Zakk Wylde ("Lost Prayer") can all be seen in the poll at the bottom of this post by clicking the links provided. You can vote once per hour through the deadline of Friday, Jan. 27 at 11AM ET.
