It was on this day in 1973 that Vice President Spiro T. Agnew, accused of accepting bribes, pleaded no contest to one count of federal income tax evasion, and resigned his office. If he'd only waited another year until Nixon resigned he could have become President Agnew and made a bigger impact on history by being impeached.
