Anthrax

Anthrax have just unleashed the first track from their upcoming EP, 'Anthems.' The thrash legends have compiled six cover songs along with two versions of the band's 'Worship Music' track 'Crawl,' but this cover of Rush's 'Anthem' is perfectly fitting as the first to be released by the group, as it is the EP's namesake.

Anthrax have not named a full-time replacement yet for exiting guitarist Rob Caggiano, but they will at least be covered for their upcoming tours. The band revealed that Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais will sit in with the band for their upcoming Fly Festival dates in India, the Soundwave Festival shows in a Australia and the group's headlining slot on the Metal Alliance trek in North America. Many congratulations are in order for each band nominated for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance for the upcoming 55th annual Grammy Awards. While hard rock and metal bands were snubbed in most of the categories for the 2013 Grammy Awards that were announced tonight (Dec. 5), the one category devoted to those genres features a diverse range of nominees.
