Last night (Jan. 22), metalheads were treated to the fifth installment of Metal Masters. Boasting a lineup of brilliant musicians, the 11 legendary players tore through 22 songs for a captivated Anaheim, Calif., audience. The holidays can be a stressful time, and for ex-Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz, Christmas was memorable for all the wrong reasons. South Florida's Gossip Extra reports that the guitarist was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and spent Christmas Day behind bars.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian flew over to the U.K. earlier this year for his one-man 'Speaking Words' tour. After a successful run overseas, Ian is bringing his spoken-word show to North America.

Metal may not get the wealth of recognition that other genres receive, but the big category that every metalhead music fan should be paying attention to is the Best Metal Performance category. The nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were just announced and there's a diverse group of acts populating the category.

Anthrax's Scott Ian has just announced that he'll be releasing an official memoir. The beloved thrash guitarist has teamed up with prolific journalist Jon Wiederhorn to pen the book, which will be titled 'I'm the Man.'

Metal fans rejoiced back in 2010 and 2011 when the Big 4 of thrash (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax) joined forces for a handful of shows around the world, including the most recent one at New York's Yankee Stadium in September 2011. Fans still holding out hope that these four metal powerhouses might join forces again on the same stage in the future may not get their way.

The Bass Player Live! Concert & Awards Show honored musicians who too often get overlooked, though there was hardly any introduction needed for the night's top honoree -- Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler. Hartke helped line up some of metal's biggest names on Saturday night (Nov. 9) at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre to salute the man who helped paved the way for their own careers.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has started a new blog on his official site, and his first post is definitely newsworthy. He covers several different topics, but the one that will make Anthrax fans most excited is they have been working on several new songs.
