A man in Florida trying to make a romantic gesture for his girlfriend lands him in jail charged with a felony.

Anthony Brasfield, according to a local newspaper, released a dozen red heart-shaped helium balloons in the parking lot of a Motel 6 for his girlfriend Shaquina Baxter.

But the romantic moment was interrupted when a Florida Highway Patrol officer saw the balloons and charged the 40-year-old man for violating the Florida Air and Water Pollution Control Act, charging him with, "polluting to harm humans, animals, and plants."

So much for a happy memory created by a romantic gesture.
