The Melvins have announced a new album, titled 'Hold It In,' which will be released Oct. 14 via Ipecac Records. The prolific band's last few releases have been as a trio, but this time around they are a quartet.

Joining iconic frontman Buzz Osbourne and drummer Dale Crover on 'Hold It In' are bassist JD Pinkus and guitarist Paul Leary from Butthole Surfers.

"'Hold It In' is a refreshing piece of fiction in a boring world of fact and bulls--t," says Osborne. "Paul is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard and Pinkus has an outside the box type of approach to both guitar and bass that you just have to let it ride. I can't believe this actually happened. I'm thrilled."

"It's very rare you get a chance to work with three folks from the 'Break A Wish' foundation, all at the same time," says Pinkus. "I believe they'll remember their experience with me forever (or until they finally all lose their fight with S.I.D.S)."

The Melvins kick off a U.S. tour Oct. 15 in Sacramento, Calif. (dates below). They'll also be part of this year's Voodoo Experience in New Orleans on Halloween. The touring lineup will be Osbourne, Crover and Pinkus.

Osborne is currently on tour in support of his debut acoustic album, 'This Machine Kills Artists,' performing shows this week in Tucson, Ariz. (July 30) and Palm Springs, Calif. (July 31) before heading to Australia and Europe. See all Osbourne and the Melvins dates here.
