Video games can get boring once you have played them a bunch of times, but being stuck playing a video game you are tired of seems like it's a better option than going to jail.

But apparently it wasn't for a young man in Whangarei, New Zealand.

The New Zealand Herald reports that about a year ago the unidentified 19-year-old was sentenced to 11 months of house arrest, but it was not revealed what his crime was.

This week he called the police, 10 months into his 11-month sentence, and told them he had "run out of Xbox games to play" and wanted to serve out the rest of his sentence in jail.

The cops showed up at his house, picked him up, and took him to jail for the final month of his sentence.
