So being a transplant to this area, it dawned on me today while I was talking with my coworkers after they were excited about spending more money at the pump, that I now live in a part of the country where paying more at the pump is a good thing!

You see when the gas prices increase, it means that the price of oil per barrel has increased which means a potential boom for the economy is on the horizon, so being from a part of the country where paying more at the pump is an inconvenience because jobs are not tied directly to the oil fields, it was a little odd hearing people excited about the rise at the pump.

So the next time you are at the pump and you're not in oil country remember this, if the price at fill up is cheap there is someone, somewhere in the country struggling to make ends meet.
