It remains to be seen if ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 4 will follow through on the pattern of previous Sundays with any new trailers or behind-the-scenes “Foreshadowing“s of the vengeance to come, but in the meantime, we have an early treat. Check out an extended look at the size of Dany’s dragons in season 4, as well as the latest behind-the-scenes preview of production from Iceland!
Above you’ll find our second artisan behind-the-scenes production report from ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, detailing the HBO series’ first ever production during an Iceland summer, far more hospitable than the winters usually filmed during. Suddenly, all the cast members who complained about the cold are regretting the heavy armors and furs their characters have been written to wear, particularly Ygritte (Rose Leslie) and the Wildlings, who have invaded warmer territory.
In the meantime, there’s always photos, trailers and teases for the April 6 premiere, while HBO has cast in known roles Joel Fry as Hizdahr zo Loraq, Roger Ashton-Griffiths as Mace Tyrell, Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Martell, Indira Varma as Oberyn’s lover Ellaria Sand, Yuri Kolokolnikov as Styr, Magnar of Thenn, and ‘Sherlock’ star Mark Gatiss as Tycho Nestoris. ‘Treme”s Michiel Huisman will replace Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis, and Hafthor Julius Bjornsson will take over the role of Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane from Ian Whyte, among other recastings.
As an added bonus, we’ve included the latest ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 Vine below, giving an extended peek at just how big Daenerys’ dragons have gotten between seasons.
