Have you ever had to hold in a sneeze to keep it quiet? Well, you might want to stop doing that because it could do some serious damage to your throat.

Doctors recently published a report in the BMJ Case Reports journal about a man in Leicester, England who went to the emergency with a swollen neck and difficulty swallowing.

Turns out, this guy tried to hold in a sneeze by holding his nose and closing his mouth. This was a bad idea as it ended up rupturing the back of his throat. He needed a week of treatment in the emergency room, treatment that included eating through a feeding tube.

Doctors say that sneezes come out at 150 miles per hour so keeping that pressure in can potentially cause damage. Granted, rupturing your throat is very rare, but you don't really wanna be that guy, do ya? Let it fly...
