The Dillinger Escape Plan's lead guitarist Ben Weinman is expanding his musical horizons for a new film. The pioneering math metal shredder has lent his talents to the upcoming film 'Alien Abduction,' composing the flick's entire score.

Weinman is a perfect musician to compose unsettling and very visual music. Since Dillinger released their debut album, 'Calculating Infinity,' in 1999, Weinman has consistently proven himself as one of music's most original and technically brilliant players. Weinman's complex, interwoven and computer-like style has be relegated mostly to the Dillinger Escape Plan, so we can't wait to hear how he tackles a completely separate project.

As seen in the trailer above, 'Alien Abduction' is a "found footage" film about an extraterrestrial invasion of Earth. "A vacationing family encounters an alien threat in this thriller based on the real-life Brown Mountain Lights phenomenon in North Carolina," reads the film's IMDB description. The Brown Mountain Lights, described as mysterious "ghost lights," have been reported to be seen by numerous people as early as 1913.

'Alien Abduction' is scheduled to premiere on April 4 simultaneously in theaters and on iTunes. Check out the film's trailer above!
