CW Passes on ‘Supernatural: Bloodlines,’ Cancels ‘Tomorrow People’ and Orders ‘iZombie’

CW Canceled Renewed 2014 Bloodlines Tomorrow People iZombie
The CW

Moments ago we saw news that The CW officially orderedArrow‘ spinoff ‘The Flash‘ to series, along with the similarly comic-friendly ‘iZombie,’ but the news isn’t all good. The ‘Supernatural‘ spinoff ‘Bloodlines‘ is officially a pass, while the network also opted not to renew ‘The Tomorrow People,’ ‘Star-Crossed’ or enduring ‘Sex and the City’ prequel series ‘The Carrie Diaries.’

Formally speaking, the above three were the only dramas actually canceled from the current lineup. ‘The Tomorrow People”s cancellation is especially notable for the series being led by ‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell’s cousin Robbie Amell, to the point where the network spread awareness of “Amellsdays” earlier in the season for both being paired on Wednesday nights.

On the brighter side (we suppose), the network officially gave series renewals to sci-fi drama ‘The 100,’ as well as enduring ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and straggler ‘Hart of Dixie.’ ‘Veronica Mars‘ creator’s ‘iZombie’ will join the network this fall, along with new pilots ‘The Messengers’ and ‘Jane the Virgin.’ The former follows people brought back to life by a mysterious alien object, while the latter derives from a Spanish telenovela about a girl who winds up accidentally artificially inseminated.

Led by ‘Once Upon A Time‘ and ‘Masters of Sex‘ star Rose McIver, ‘iZombie’ follows Olivia “Liv” Moore (get it?!), a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job at the coroner’s office to satisfy her insatiable hunger for brains. Each brain she consumes unlocks the corpse’s memories, helping to silence the voices in her head, as she works with authorities to solve homicide cases. Previously announced cast members include David Anders (‘Heroes‘), Malcolm Goodwin, Robert Buckley, Nora Dunn and Alexandra Krosney.

Well, what do you think? Which of The CW’s new offerings excite you the most, and which are you most disappointed to see canceled?
