Recycling is all the rage, but I am thinking raw sewage made into beer has to taste just sh**ty.

According to Time, Oregon's water utility company recently came up with a new method to purify sewage water to make it safe, and now they want to brew beer with it.

The state's Environmental Quality Commission just gave them permission to go ahead and give it a shot.

Once they've made a batch, it'll be tested to make sure it's safe to drink.  If it passes, they can serve it at events and private parties, but it won't go on sale right away.

Without going too overboard, this could be a big development for the future of new, more creative ways that we can use wastewater.
