We’re still in enough disbelief over ‘Breaking Bad”s ultimate end this past year, let alone that Saul Goodman’s story will continue as spinoff prequel ‘Better Call Saul,’ but it seems we may return to ‘Breaking Bad”s world even sooner than anticipated. Netflix has closed a deal with AMC to stream ‘Better Call Saul’ through all territories, making the drama available sooner than we’d expected in 2014.

Via Deadline, Netflix’s efforts to secure ‘Better Call Saul’ rights entirely for itself have not gone in vain, as the new deal will see the ‘Breaking Bad’ spinoff available in its entirety to stream through the US and Canada after the first season finale on AMC in 2014. Netflix has been credited previously with expanding ‘Breaking Bad”s fanbase before the final season began in 2012 and 2013, respectively. It will also exclusively host season 4 of ‘The Killing,’ the first details of which emerged over the weekend.

“’Breaking Bad’ is widely recognized as one of the great TV experiences in this new golden age of television,” said Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos. “It has also proven very popular with Netflix subscribers around the world. This spinoff promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling.”

Thus far, we’ve heard relatively little of ‘Better Call Saul’ beyond its pilot greenlight, save for actor Bob Odenkirk‘s suggestion that the drama could feature present-day Saul without taking place entirely in flashback, and that the lawyer would likely be spending time in an actual courtroom. We had initially been uncertain if ‘Better Call Saul’ would emerge in 2014 to fill ‘Breaking Bad”s summer slot, though the deal with Netflix at least seems to confirm the first season will entirely air next year.

What say you? Are you ready to dive back into the ‘Breaking Bad’ world with ‘Better Call Saul’ so quickly? How would you like to see the new story told?
