Would you go “missing” if you could?

As I watch and read the news in and around the basin, it may be my imagination, or not?  

It seems like a person goes missing at least once per week.  Do the people intentionally go off the grid?  Are people kidnapped?  In Juarez, I imagine more often than not it's kidnapping!  There are times I'd like to start over or disappear.  One problem is I don't have the money and would need a job.  Hard to present a resume if you didn't exist, right?
