Woman Quits Pro Wrestling to Donate Kidney to Diabetic Brother
As good a wrestler as Allie Parker may be, she's a much better sister.
Parker is a pro wrestler who walked away from her career in order to donate a kidney to her brother, who's battling diabetes.
On May 30, Parker participated in a show in Las Vegas that will most likely be the final match of her career.
Two days later, Parker went under the knife in a procedure to donate her kidney to her brother, Ryan, who's had diabetes for more than 20 years. He had been on dialysis, but soon developed kidney failure, requiring a more urgent need for a transplant. Considering the wait time for a transplant is more than three-and-a-half years on average, Allie's gesture was not only sweet, but necessary.
Both Allie and Ryan are recovering.
