I'm still working on the page so it's a little boring right now.

Tomorrow, February 1, is National Wear Red Day kicking off American Heart Month. Heart disease is the largest killer of women as far as disease goes. It takes more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of one and three women. Think of the women in your life, women you love, your mother, your sister, your daughter… Which one of them can you live without? Could you choose? Unfortunately you wouldn’t have to. Heart disease could make the choice for you. According to the American Heart Association, every 38 seconds, someone dies from cardiovascular disease. What makes it worse is that nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented.
Even though heart disease is the #1 killer of women, fewer than 20% of women consider heart disease or stroke to be their biggest health threat. It’s important for women to be aware of the signs of a heart attack considering they are not always the classic signs like intense chest pain, they may start with just some mild pain.
The following are some symptoms to watch for in women:
-A fullness or uncomfortable pressure in your chest that goes away and comes back
-Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach
-Shortness of breath
-Cold sweat, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness
If you have any of these signs, DO NOT WAIT. CALL 9-1-1!
Join the Go Red for Women movement GoRedForWomen.org to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in women and get involved by wearing red on Friday and post a photo of your family, friends and colleagues in red and use #FCGoesRed.
American Heart Month is hosted by the American Heart Association. You can learn about keeping your heart healthy by going to
